I just read the resolutions I put on my home page on New Year’s Day. I am so bad at keeping them, I don’t know why I take the time to write them down. Right now I am batting about 50%…But I wanted to take a few minutes and tell you about how great God works to make life good.
I am now living in my dream house on top of my hill. I got to move to my Greensboro neighborhood the last day of January. My daughter and son-in-law have been so great in helping me settle into my last “house” and already it is my home. You should see how fine a place it is for me! From my craftsmen crown molding, to my wonderful tiled shower, to the most perfect kitchen I could ever need…I can’t think of one thing I’d change. I guess you figured out I am pretty happy with it. Let me tell you how the good Lord worked it all out for me.
Tara drove by the lot the first day it was posted. She came and brought me here and I knew I was home. There is a wonderful old oak tree in my backyard and my office window faces down the street of my neighborhood. We got a super price for the land and then my fantastic son-in-law went to work contracting the most wonderful porch in Jonesboro with a house in the middle. He built my house from the end of September to the middle of February. In less than five months…winter months mind you…he built my wonderful house. He stayed in my budget and gave me every luxury I asked for. Tara helped me with all the financing part so I didn’t even have to deal with all that craziness.
Then came the scary part…I now had two mortgages! I am a retired Arkansas school teacher…two mortgages is a scary thing. The very day we got the certificate of occupancy for my new house, I got an offer on my old house and within three weeks, the sale was closed. How did all the happen? It’s one of those wonderful God things. I have been so blessed. My wonderful Sunday School class surprised me with two beautiful rocking chairs and a small table so I can entertain guests on my porch this summer…I can have lots of company too because Tara and Kinley gave me two brown rocking chairs for the front and I have my Cracker Barrel rocker too. Come on over…I’ll make the iced tea, if you don’t want sugar in it.
Oh, and I am still working on Shiloh. I am having to break it into parts to get it short enough to publish, but I promise 2017 is still the year of the book. Lord, Thank you…I know I am a woman so blessed.
God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good!!!!!!!
