No Man’s Chattel is a wonderful book. The way Patricia Blake writes about the characters and their challenges in life and their victories, it makes the reader feel they know these characters on a personal level. The story keeps the reader wanting to read more and more of the story. Honestly it is hard to find a stopping place and put the book down. I highly recommend reading this book!

If you like historical fiction, you will love this. This story is filled with historical facts and customs. It is well-researched and provides the reader with a glimpse of what everyday life was like in the South (and Arkansas, specifically) right after the Civil War. Patricia draws the reader into the daily struggles, spirit, and courage of those who survived to begin building a new life from nothing. Patricia draws on her faith in God and displays that in her writing, building into her characters a strong belief in the presence of God in their daily lives. This book will keep you engaged with a desire to just keep on reading to the very end!

Patricia Clark Blake has now completed the books of Shiloh. She tied up all of the story lines in interesting ways. Always in awe of her literary talents!!!! I admire her for the incredible amount of research that she has done to relate the history of life in Arkansas at this time in history. This is a great book, a great finish to an awesome series, and a great example of Patricia Clark Blake’s writing talents. I am sorry that the saga is finished. My mind keeps wondering about each of their children, especially what will happen with Grace and also with Annie and her son??? Could those be stories just waiting to be written?

What a perfect ending to a series. Watching the characters evolve was such a blessing. Patricia has made me feel like I was in this series the entire way! Wonderfully written!

I love the characters and how they are developed. Even if it is a series you can pick up any one of them and get right into the story and understand what is happening. I love how she weaves facts about the history of Arkansas in the story. I can’t wait for the next book.

I’m already looking forward to the fifth book. Rich in history, I find myself fascinated by the strength of the human condition portrayed so well in the characters’ thoughts and actions. No matter how difficult life becomes, Blake reminds us of the hope and love that is ever-present. Her characters never hesitate to remind us of the endless and all-encompassing love our Savior has for each and every one of us.

The third book in the Shiloh Saga series did not disappoint! As usual, I could not put this story down. It kept me interested from the very start, and I just had to finish it as quickly as possible! If you enjoy a good, clean read, these books are for you, and the story of Laurel and Mac will keep you entertained throughout all three books!

This is one of a series. You need to read them in order. There are 3 out right now with a 4th to come soon. They are well written books of romance, religion, and history. They will keep you intrigued from page one to end of each book. It’s hard to get a great clean read and these books sure fit the bill.

A great sequel to In Search of Shiloh. When I completed the first book, I couldn’t wait to read the sequel, and I was not disappointed. The MacLaynes work together to build a home and a marriage in spite of conflicts that threaten to destroy them. This is a page-turner, and now I’m anxiously awaiting the third book.

Great book–one that you don’t want to put down! A very vivid description of the journey across Arkansas. I highly recommend it! I am ready to start reading the next book to learn how Laurel and Mac are adjusting to their new home.

A beautifully written book about struggles in life, marriage, and faith in early Arkansas. Very interesting read with a beautiful love story intertwined. Now I’ve started the second book and it is just as good as the first! I think it would make a great tv mini series!

Blake brought her characters to life. I feel like I know them as old friends. I’m looking to start the second novel in the saga immediately.
